Advisor Biography

Ted Gavin is an influential hands-on executive. He has an extensive background in restructuring, corporate finance, and due diligence. Ted is uniquely qualified in corporate governance with expertise in insolvency and restructuring, bankruptcy, corporate turnarounds, and bankruptcy litigation. Ted was the 2018-2019 President of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the nation's largest organization of restructuring professionals.  He specializes in seamlessly working alongside management and boards to achieve corporate objectives.

With more than 25 years of experience across the management consulting industry, Ted is currently the Founding Partner and Managing Director with Gavin/Solmonese LLC.  As Managing Director, he leads a nationally recognized firm that specializes in corporate recovery and restructuring, corporate enlightenment, and strategic effectiveness. 

Before co-founding Gavin/Solmonese, Ted was the Principal of NHB Advisors.  During his time with NHB Advisors, he was a certified turnaround professional specializing in turnaround management and restructuring advisory for over ten years, working with clients ranging from the development stage to $1.8B in annual revenues.

Ted graduated top of his class with a Bachelor of Science in Busines and Information Systems from the University of Phoenix. He earned his Master of Legal Studies and Master of Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine Law.

  • Responsible for the firm's Wilmington, Delaware office and with primary market responsibility for NHB's creditors practice area
  • Provided expert testimony in support of settlements leading to landmark rulings, including reaffirmation of SPM carveouts post-Armstrong and in allocation of asset sale proceeds by asset class as well as across multiple Debtor entities
  • Engaged as liquidating trustee for post-confirmation trusts, well as SPM-type unsecured creditors trusts.
  • Frequently engaged to run section 363 sales processes by Debtors and Committee in Chapter 11 cases

Director, Information Technology - The Penn Ventilation Companies

  • Managed consolidation of corporate locations, corporate headquarters move, creation and migration to new corporate datacenter, design and successful implementation of zero-downtime infrastructure and Y2K remediation.
