Sheryl Dawson is a solutions-focused Senior Executive and Talent Management Consultant with more than 30 years of success serving many industries including healthcare, engineering and construction, manufacturing, oil & gas, and financial services. With extensive experience across the public, private, and non-profit sectors, Sheryl’s innovative leadership is a valuable asset for companies requiring expert assistance with strategies for growth, engagement and retention, talent management, and organizational challenges such as leadership transition, change management, and integration. Her broad areas of expertise include leadership competency assessment and development, team facilitation, succession planning, talent analytics, and M&A leadership solutions.
Sheryl is the CEO of Dawson Consulting Group, an established boutique consulting firm she established in 1990. During her tenure, she has been responsible for the creation, implementation and delivery of client programs that have optimized engagement and retention, career development and succession planning processes. As a Solutions Partner for over 16 years, she established a distributorship for Harrison Assessments; developed client solutions across the talent cycle and certified over twenty client firms, coaches, and consultants in its implementation. Results include the improvement in client leadership capacity, team effectiveness and engagement, and retention. Prior to the sale of her Houston/Austin partnership in Career Partners International, as CEO she led business development, operational and market strategy, leveraging the global CPI brand for a 300% growth in a three-year period.
Sheryl holds an MBA from the University of Houston – Clear Lake and a BA in English and Psychology from Eastern University. She serves on the Advisory Board of UTHealth School of Biomedical Informatics, and is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management, Greater Houston Partnership, Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce, and Association of Corporate Growth.
