Domenic Ionta is a solutions-focused Senior Executive and Board Member with over 15 years of success across the government, public policy, and education industries.

Leveraging extensive experience in implementing new policies and procedures, he is a valuable advisor for an organization seeking guidance in public policy, acquiring and managing government contracts, government data analysis, public finance, international and domestic security, legislative affairs, and international politics. Throughout his executive career, Domenic has held leadership positions with the US Department of Homeland Security/Office of the Secretary, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and the University of South Carolina.


2018 - Present

Special Advisor to the Director & Deputy Chief of Staff for Management and Administration (M&A) - US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) - US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)

  • Serve as an advisor on all requisite public safety, homeland security, immigration, and law enforcement topics, and associated management and resource requirements as they arise
  • Lead and facilitate senior-level briefing and hearings with ICE, DHS, the White House, and the Hill, particularly the Homeland Security authorization and appropriations committees
  • Review, manage, and clear more than 50 daily ICE-wide director-level briefing materials, hearing testimony, and policy memos for ICE, DHS, the White House, and the Hill
  • Oversee $7.5 billion in personnel, contract, law-enforcement, legal, regulatory, and support resources for DHS; regularly brief the Hill on resource requirements to garner additional support from overseers in Congress

2017 - 2018

Deputy Chief of Staff for the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) & Appropriations Liaison - US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) - US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)

  • Managed eight program support offices
  • Briefed senior ICE, DHS, OMB, White House, and Congressional leadership on ICE’s management efforts, finances, budget, human capital, IT, audit engagement, and related management activities
  • Facilitated cross-agency policy working groups germane to all policy areas that dovetail with cross-border criminal activity, migration, immigration policy, and protecting and upholding public safety

  • Formulated, monitored, and executed ICE’s $6.5B annual budget
  • Briefed House and Senate Appropriations Committee staff, senior ICE and DHS leadership, and outside stakeholders on risk-based immigration enforcement deployments along the southern border
  • Processed multi-million-dollar ($160M) re-programming efforts to align ICE resources with immigration detention bed contracts, wiretaps and other undercover operations, and other mission-critical priorities
