How Do I Define Success?

In the videogame world, "success" is a very subjective term. While there are easily calculable variables such as userbase size or revenue, there are also less tangible variables like retention and even plain old familiarity. Success, to me, is having completed a goal. Sounds redundant, but I'm always impressed by how complicated humanity makes things, especially in the world of business. If you set out with a goal, you have something to achieve. Do you want 10,000 players? A million dollars? Do you just want to get your product out the door? Set your goals, make your plan, and be successful.
